  • Cutting Off Escape Squares - A mating net occurs when your pieces work together to cut off all flight squares around the enemy king before delivering the final checkmate.
  • Qg7#: Executing the Net - Supported by the f6 pawn, the queen moves to g7. The rook on g8 cannot capture because of the pin, and the king has no escape.
  • Key Mating Net Principles - 1. Control flight squares first. 2. Bring heavy pieces in close. 3. Use pawns or minor pieces to seal the exit doors.

How to Weave a Mating Net
